Boston Massacre

- Started when colonist were throwing snowballs, sticks, and rocks at British soldiers.
- One soldier was hit then fired on crowd which led to others firing.
- 5 colonist were killed.
- Trials occurred.

Battle of Lexington and concord
- Was fought on April 19, 1775.
- Battle happened when hundreds of British soldiers were marching to seize a arms cache.
- Paul Revere and others went and warned others that the British were coming.
- Colonist from all over came and fought the British .
- The battle ended with the British retreating under heavy gun fire given by colonist.
- Was first battle of American Revolution .

- When over 2,000 British soldiers under William Howe marched to Breed's Hill.
- Colonist fired on British when they were close.

- Battle was really a victory for the American colonist because showed they could fight and kill the might British.

Battle of yorktown
- Battle went from September 28th to October 19th 1781.
- Was British forces commanded by General Cornwallis surrounded by French and American troops.
- The British were waiting for reinforcements that never came.
- American and French Troops keep pushing British lines .
- British finally surrendered and it meant that the American Revolution was over.

- Official surrender of British was the Treaty of Paris that was signed on September 3rd, 1783.
- Once Britain surrendered America was its own nation.
- Also received land from Mississippi to Florida .

- Britain's army was in shame for losing to such a inferior force.
- America had connections with France, Dutch, and Spain after war.
